Four defeats in poor week for Town

SLEAFORD Town started the new outdoor season on Friday with a visit to Grantham Town in the EBA League. Winning on one rink and losing on two, they went down 46-53 to pick up just two points.
For Sleaford, C Taylor, D Curt, R Lupton and R Taylor won 20-12; J Parker, T Bell, J Denney and P Musson lost 19-12; and P Annison, B Gilbert, R Markham and D Smith lost 14-22.

In the ASC Metals League on Sunday, Town lost on all rinks, going
down 38-84. C Taylor, D Curt and B Gilbert lost 24-18; A Norris, R Lupton and R Taylor lost 25-15; and T Bell, B Srawley and P Jobson lost 34-5.

But Sleaford fared much better at home to Rustons in the Lincoln and District league, winning on all four rinks for an aggregate victory of 107-73 and 14 points.

J Wareham, R Lupton and B Gilbert won 29-10, T Bell, B Srawley and J Denny won 25-17; P Annison, G Turner and D Curt won 28-22; and M Titley, M Leachman and M Wareham won 25-24.

Town suffered four rink losses at Cranwell, where A Morris, J Denney and J Parker lost 20-19; K Dye, R Neale and P Jobson lost 19-18; L Morris, J Gilbert and B Srawley lost 34-12; and P Adkins, A Norris and P Musson lost 25-12.

Entertaining Washingborough at Sleaford on Sunday morning, Town went down 48-47. M Titley, B Srawley and P Jobson won 22-15; T Bell, M Wareham and B Gilbert lost 18-15; C Taylor, R Lupton and R Taylor lost 10-15.
