FORMER British F2 sidecar champion Gary Horspole from Leasingham and new passenger, Scott Parnell from Holbeach, rode to a third and sixth place finish in the opening two rounds of the British F2 Sidecar Championship at Cadwell Park over the Bank Holiday weekend.
The county duo powered through from a third row grid position to take up third place on the opening lap of race one and maintained that position all the way to the chequered flag.

Race two saw an epic battle at the front, with Horspole latching on the back of the group in sixth place. But the action was stopped on lap five because of an incident at Park and the re-start was again red flagged when the front runners bunched together at Charlie's.

Finally the race got underway for the third time and Horspole took up fifth position ahead of Simon Neary. But as the race progressed Neary got the better of the Sleaford man and Horspole had to settle for sixth to claim a further 10 championship points.

With 16 points from race one, it puts Horspole and Parnell fourth in the points table after two of 14 races.

Horspole and Parnell now have a six-week break before the next round at Snetterton in Norfolk, where the battle for the title will recommence on June 21 and 22.
