A QUARTET of Striders took the short trip just south of Bourne to run in the Langtoft 10k.

The course was very flat and conducive to fast times and a field of 218 runners took part.

Nick Reet finished 25th in a personal best time for the distance of 39mins.

Other Striders taking part were: Graham Potter (65th; 43.38 PB); Paul Hardy (80th; 45.44); Vince Mc Niffe (86th; 46.15).

Keely McNiffe finished 73rd out of 170 in the 3k fun run.

l Sleaford Strider Terry Grant competed in the Southwell Sprint Triathlon.

The event comprised a 400-metre swim, followed by a 20km cycle and finished with a looped 5km run.

Now in its 12th year, the Southwell Sprint Triathlon is the launch event for the Timex Sprint Triathlon Series 2008.

The series will consist of the same four events as in 2007, the others being the Mansfield, Woodhall Spa, and David Lloyd Lincoln sprint triathlons.

Terry finished in 138th out of a field of 481 in a time of 1.01.22, giving him a PB for the course by over a minute.
