ENTERTAINING Nettleham at their London Road ground on Saturday, Sleaford 1st XI were looking for revenge following their cup defeat at the hands of the same rivals a week earlier.
Batting first, Sleaford made a good start, with in-form all rounder Warren Nel stroking his way to a useful 40.

Phil Sneath went on to strike a fine half century, top scoring for the home side with an undefeated 56. He had some plucky support from
Bryan Smith at the end but too few of the Sleaford batsmen were able to make a mark and the innings closed at a modest total of 150 off the allotted 50 overs.

Rahman (3-44) and Cook (3-38) were Nettleham's most successful bowlers.

The Sleaford attack did all they could to make Nettleham's progress heavy going and they had the visitors in some difficulties at 69-4, with Edwardson picking up two victims, before a fifth wicket stand between Manby and Rahman settled Nettleham's nerves and guided them to what was, in the end, a convincing six wicket victory.

Manby remained undefeated on 26, while Rahman top scored with 56 not out.

Two consecutive defeats to Nettleham leaves Sleaford with plenty to think about.

Scores:
Sleaford 150-7 (Nel 40, Sneath 55no, Tomlin 16, Goacher 14, Smith 13no; Rahman 3-44, Cook 3-38).
Nettleham 151-4 (Rahman 56no, Manby 26no, Hickenbotham 22; Edwardson 2-36)
