Town held on to claim the points after a hard fought game.
The first half was action packed and played at a frantic pace, with both sides battling for midfield dominance without creating too many scoring chances.
Sleaford had the best of the ea
rly chances and Lions keeper Joe Tyson was forced to make a good save to keep them out.
Town's Clarke was unlucky not to make more of a counter-attack but he was forced into an impossible angle by strong defensive work.
The second half continued at the same frenetic pace and Sleaford nearly opened the scoring five minutes after the half time interval when a quick throw caught Lions off guard.
With 10 minutes left to play Ruskington's Aaron Wiseman was brought down in the area. He stepped up for the penalty but the shot clipped the crossbar and went over.
At the other end, Nathan Titley was denied by a great save from Tyson, before Town were awarded a penalty when a surging run by Bradley Webster ended with him being fouled just inside the area. Webster made no mistake from the resultant spot kick calmly slotting the ball passed the keeper to open the scoring on 55 minutes.
Lions pushed forward in a bid to save the game but Town held on to their slender lead to claim the points.
