ALTHOUGH Bracebridge Heath had only 10 men when they took on Sleaford 1st XI in the Newark Alliance League on Sunday, they still managed to sneak victory.
Sleaford won the toss and elected to bat. Glen Robinson provided the only real batting highlight, hitting his way to a neat half century before being bowled for 52.

Cope chipped in with a useful knock of 27 but none of the other Sleaford batsmen was able to post a plus-20 score as the innings closed at 160-8. Tom Siswick was Bracebridge’s most successful bowler, claiming four wickets at a cost of 31 runs from his nine overs.

With Warren Nel in good form with the ball, taking 4-26, the Bracebridge batsmen too found it difficult to get into their stride.

However, with Winhorse striking a strong 47 and Van Deventer (29) and Neal (26) also making valuable contributions, Bracebridge reached the required target for the loss of eight wickets.

This latest defeat leaves Sleaford firsts without a win so far this season.

Scores: Sleaford 1st XI 160-8 (Robinson 52, Cope 27, Siswick 4-31); Bracebridge Heath 164-8 (Winehorse 47, Van Deventer 29, Neal 26; Nel 4-26)
