SLEAFORD Wheelers’ newest star performer, Adi Mackinder, in only his first year of racing, produced two outstanding rides.
He recorded a personal best for 10 miles and 25 miles within a matter of days.
Adi’s fast times for both distances pushed
him well up the Wheelers’ rankings behind club champion Jim Boyle.
In event 11 of the club’s 10-mile time trial league, Adi knocked nearly a minute off his previous best time, finishing in 22mins 36secs to win the event by more than two minutes.
Second was Russ Newman in 24.39, with Dave Ashley third in 24.40. George Thompson took the handicap prize with his adjusted handicap time of 21.10. John Scott was second in the handicap section in 21.38 and Steve Jackson (21.45) third.
Mackinder claimed his second PB in the North Notts Olympic Road Club 25, which attracted a field of 120 riders. Adi improved his previous best by four minutes to go under the magic one hour mark for the first time. He clocked a very fast 56.42.
Also going under the one hour mark were team mates Mark Colclough (59.00) and Dennis Owen (59.59).
Other Sleaford times were: Dave Ashley (1.00.36 - PB); Dave Smith (1.00.36); Kath Smith 1.05.40).
