Joyce Bannister, Brenda Hudson and Sheila Methven from Sleaford Indoor Bowling Club were in superb form to win the Lincolnshire ladies’ triples title.

The Sleaford trio defeated Boston in the final 20-16 at Stamford Indoor Bowling Club to lift the trophy.

There was also a remarkable performance from Kath Lake, in her 80s and one of the oldest members of Sleaford Indoor Bowling Club, who partnered Paul Roberts, one of the club’s younger members, to victory in the mixed pairs final. Kath and Paul defeated a pair from Boston 26-15 to take the county indoor mixed title.

Joyce Bannister and Brenda Hudson also teamed up with Lincoln’s Penny Strong and June Wilson to represent Lincolnshire in the Atherley Trophy national finals at Stamford.

Lincolnshire turned in an outstanding performance to beat Surrey 24-16.
