Greg continues victory spree
Sleaford Town Runners
MEMBERS of Sleaford Town Runners travelled to Cambridgeshire to compete in the Folksworth 15-mile road race.
Over a challenging course, with some steep hills to negotiate, and on a windy and blustery day, John Lawlor won his age category in a good time of 1 hour 36 minutes 52 seconds. He finished more then three minutes ahead of his nearest rival and in 26th place overall.
Gary Britnell finished in 2.11.17, with Mandy Connor and Michelle Mason finishing together in 2.46.42.
l The second running of the Rauceby Ripper 8.5 mile multi-terrain event was well supported.
The event started and finished in Rauceby village.
Greg Southern ignored the bitterly cold weather, with icy conditions underfoot, to follow up his win at the 13-mile Ropsley Raid in January by winning again in a time of 49.21.
Andy Taylor chased Greg all the way but in the end had to settle for second place, in a time of 50.17.
