Runners prepare for half marathons

Sleaford Town Runners

IT has been quiet summer for members of Sleaford Town Runners.

The Thursday night club runs have still proved popular and many of the runners have been using their weekends in training for the up and coming autumn half marathons.

The Lincolnshire 5km series continued on Wednesday evenings and competing in the final race were Simon England, who finished in 18 minutes 7 seconds, and Barry Douce (21:34).

Representing Sleaford Town Runners in the Lincolnshire Wolds 10-mile race were Gary Britnell and Mike Folland. Gary was the first to finish, crossing the line in 1:25, while Mike completed the course in 1:29.

With the nights drawing in, Town Runners will be seen more in the town again. Anyone interested in taking up running is welcome to go along on a Thursday night at 7pm at Sleaford Rugby Club or contact Sleaford Town Runners via www.sleafordtownrunners.com
