Sleaford Town Running Club

AFTER a few quiet weeks, members of Sleaford Town Running Club were back on form with three races competed in a fortnight.

Paul Green was the only member of the Town Runners competing in the undulating Grimsthorpe Half Marathon, after running 10 miles on our monthly Coffee and Cake run only the day before and crossed the line in 1hr 46.

Rain has proved a regular partner to training sessions and running the Toonie Trot 10k race proved no different.

Members ran a gradual three mile incline through the countryside around Ancaster, and then a sharp decline before a flat finish back in to Woodys.

Paul Ray came in first for the Runners in 51:15 followed by Gary Britnell 53:22, Stephen Brear 57:01 and Karl Brown 58:24, first in for the ladies was Steph Atherton crossing the line in 1hr 5, followed by Lou Henderson 1hr 5, Barbara Campbell 1hr 7, Claire Brown 1hr 7 and Lisa Harmon coming in strong in 1hr 21.

The weather changed dramatically for the Sherwood Pines 10k and members ran the trail run through the woodland in beautiful sunshine.

Gary Britnell came in first for the Runners in 47:27, Stephen Brear was next in 48:11, Andy Clarke in 48:15 and Lou Henderson came in as the only female member in 58:10. Sleaford Town Runners meet at Sleaford Rugby Club on Thursday evenings at 7pm.
