Sleaford Town Runners

SEVERAL members of the Sleaford Town Runners Club too part in the first of three races in the Lincoln Wellington 5k series.

Greg Southern was first of the Sleaford contingent to finish, crossing the line in 17 minutes 11 seconds. Also running were: Simon England (18:06); Michael Baxter (18:33); Barry Douce (22:06) and Mike Folland (25:12).

n Andy Taylor kicked off the Jubilee weekend celebrations by running the Hull 10k. Despite heavy rain, he came in with a great time of 35:47.

n Town Runners enjoyed a mid week six mile road race at Ropsley. Times are still awaited but the event was won by Sleaford’s Greg Southern. Other members competing were: Gary Britnell, Shaun Louth, Simon England, Paul Ray, Steph Atherton, Barbara Campbell and Paul Green.

n Fifteen members of Sleaford Town Runners were in the field for the Woodhall Spa 10k. Greg Southern was first home, coming fifth overall in 35:04, with Andy Taylor (35:46) not far behind.

Other times were: Simon England (38:26), Michael Baxter (38:39 PB), Paul Green (45:12), Andrew Good (45:15) Stephen Brear (46:08), Barry Douce (49:07), Ian Swinscoe (50:37), Debbie Sutton (53:57), Beth Fray (54:24), Lou Henderson (57:43), Caz Thomson (58:57), Stanley Thornton (1hr) and Yvonne Fox (1hr 6).
