TRIATHLON: Eight Sleaford club juniors tackle Nottingham race

Eight budding Tri3 Sleaford Triathlon Club members were in fine form for Saturday's Nottingham Junior Triathlon at the Harvey Haddon Sports Village.

The team competed in four age categories from TriStar3 (Tom aged 13), TriStar2 (Abbie, Georgia, Jack and Will – aged 11-12), TriStar1 (Kayleigh and Harry – aged 9-10) and TriStart (Josh – aged 8).

Despite the earlier torrential rain, spirits were high and the juniors all had a great event with a pool swim, technical bike course on tarmac, and undulating grass-track run.

The club was represented at the Great North Run this weekend by father and daughter Alan Smith and Jenny Smith-Wood. Jenny’s son and Tri3 junior, Cameron, completed the Junior run over 2.5 miles.
