Jim Matson, Andy Snoxell and Paul Butterworth scored a five on their last end but still went down 21-24; David Miller, Kath Booth and Cyril Knaggs lost 18-31; Keith Pilbeam, George Glover and John Booth went down 21-32.

A Cliff League fixture was up next on Ruskington’s green. Visitors Navenby won the day, with Ruskington picking up three points. Martin Jennings, Keith Pilbeam and Andy Snoxell lost 7-24, while Dave Wood, Karina Woods and Trevor Thackray won 20-7.

Ann Jennings, Cecil Hall and George Freeland were unlucky to drop a pair on the final end to finish 16-18 down and George Glover, Les Wilkinson and Paul Butterworth tied their game 14-14.

Ruskington’s second round KO Cup match on Thursday was cancelled due to the green being flooded again.
