Welcome return to form for A team

Sleaford Indoor Bowls Club

The Sleaford A team had a welcome return to form for the return game against Boston, picking up 14 points from the win which should take them into second place.

P Roberts, with his set of P Annison, B Sach and D Duffy stormed into a 14-2 lead and held out with some steady scoring to win 24-16.

T Bannister, D Rogers, G Johnston and A Naismith took a 10-3 lead and then held their own in spite of dropping a late six to run out winners 22-18.

C Bradley’s set of D Bristow, T Curran and T Stanley similarly took an early lead, then dropped a five to go one behind but showed great determination to come back and go on to win 18-15.

A Bristow, R Workman, B Eaglen and J White were involved in a tussle with a good rink taking a lead, dropping off and then coming back strongly, before going down unluckily 16-17.

G Pask, J Scott, K Callow and I Cliff never quite got the length and were beaten 11-20.

Sleaford club president Jim White held his President’s Day last Sunday. The event was well attended and thoroughly enjoyed by all members who took part. Jim remarked that he must go down in history as the only president who lost his own day, as well as losing earlier to the lady president!
