The South Lincolnshire and Border League goes into the new season with a new cup competition for clubs in Divisions One and Two.

Designed to provide additional games for these divisions, following a slight reduction in teams for 2016, the cup will be a 40 overs a side competition with the winner collecting a trophy donated by Dewhurst Trophies of Boston.

League president Michael Marsh is also sponsoring the competition by providing balls for the semi-finals and finals. Freiston and Graves Park play the opening match on April 24.

League games begin in the Premier Division on Saturday with Billingborough at home to Belton Park.

Woodhall Spa 2nd travel to Stamford Town while newly promoted Boston 2nd take on Grantham 2nd at the Mayflower Ground.

Only one match takes place in the other two divisions – Grantham 3rd head for the seaside to play Skegness 2nd in Division One and Long Sutton 2nd play host to Spalding 3rd in Division Two.

Matches start at 1pm and spectators are welcome.
