Goacher bowls Sleaford to easy win

Readers Lincolnshire ECB Premier League

ALTHOUGH Bourne, the visitors to London Road on Saturday, were above Sleaford in the Premier League table, the hosts were in no mood to heed that fact.

Defending a healthy total of 234 after batting first, Sleaford made short work of the Bourne innings, with excellent bowling from Nick Goacher, who finished with 5 wickets for 28 runs, helping to dismiss the visitors for 100, as Sleaford clinched an esy 134 run victory.

Elsewhere, Haxey moved back to the top of the table after a narrow two-wicket win over defending champions Bracebridge Heath.

In a low scoring game at Cross O’Cliff Court, the home side were bowled out for 143, Paul Bell taking four wickets. But Haxey also found the going tough, Dale Coy taking them over the line with an unbeaten 22 as Brett Houston also took four wickets for Bracebridge.

Meanwhile, at Market Deeping, where leaders Skegness were the visitors, the home side put their recent poor batting behind them to blast the day’s top score of 239 for six, Jamie Morgan hitting 93. Tom Atallah then took five wickets to inflict only the second defeat of the season on the seasiders who were bowled out for 186 and slipped down to second.

Third placed Woodhall Spa defeated Hartsholme by seven wickets, with Dan Milgate putting in a man of the match performance with five wickets and 60 not out.
