Holders too strong in rematch
Sleaford Invitational Cup
The quarter final rematch game between holders Billingborough and Spalding was played in glorious conditions.
Spalding had been on the brink of victory before rain stopped play first time round but this time a weakened Spalding were no match for Billingborough.
Batting first, Billingborough had reached 60 of just 6 overs and went on to post a final total of 156 in their allotted 18 overs, with Warren Nell top scoring with 46 and S Scott contributing 44.
Spalding could never keep up with the required run rate and fell short by 48 runs, finishing on 108 for 5, with Hendry making a defiant unbeaten 57.
The Invitational Cup (formerly the Pattinson Cup) is sponsored by Four Seasons.
