Newly promoted sides in the South Lincolnshire & Border League Premier Division occupy two of the top three places, with Boston 2nd leading the way with maximum points from their two games and Market Deeping 2nd in third.

Billingborough lie second following a win over Woodhall Spa in a high scoring game, the village side hitting 257 for six of which Shaun Brown made 66 and Nathan Garfoot an unbeaten 82.

In reply, Henry Wilson hit 66 for the home team but Woodhall’s final wicket fell on 229.

Market Deeping were involved in a nailbiter as they were bowled out for 150 by Spalding, who missed their target by just three runs while Boston 2nd earned their points with a 52 run win over Bourne 2nd.

Phil Holland made an unbeaten 56 in Stamford Town’s 241 for seven and his team went on to secure the 20 points, bowling out Belton Park for 104.

And Oliver Bean made 76 for Sleaford 2nd who missed out on maximum points when Grantham 2nd hung on to their last wicket to finish 135 for nine.

Baston got their Division One campaign off to a good with a win over Skegness 2nd as did demoted Moulton Harrox who chased down Welby Cavaliers’ 176 for nine to win by five wickets.

Bowlers were to the fore at Heckington where Damon Tunnicliffe took five Freiston wickets for 37 only to see Moeed top that with six for 27 including a hat trick to take his side to victory.

Simon Juckes hit 52 not out for Spalding 2nd in their five wicket win over Grantham 3rd who finished 161 for four, of which Ian Robinson hit an unbeaten 75 but only 15 overs were possible before rain washed out the game between Billingborough 2nd and Timberland.

A tight game at Spalding saw Boston 3rd bowled out for just 69 - and go on to win by seven runs as Spalding 3rd were all out for 62.

And in the South Lincs & Border League Cup, Dan Oldfield hit 50 for Long Sutton 2nd who proved too strong for Grantham 4th.
