But it was Division Two that supplied the day’s drama as Burgh & District beat Grantham 4th by just one run - and 72 year old Terry Wilkinson took five wickets for Burgh.

A good bowling spell from Joseph Starbuck, who took four for 21 off 11 overs, saw Burgh restricted to 117, the last wicket falling with one ball to go.

Despite losing an early wicket to Wilkinson, Grantham got off to a better start.

Wilkinson triggered a middle order collapse but Harry Robinson and Oliver Barry dug in, inching their team ever closer to the total.

Robinson hit 28 but with the score on 116 and with four balls of the innings to go, Elliott Brown took the last wicket to give Burgh victory, Barry unbeaten on 22.

Also in this division, Belton Park 2nd claimed their first win of the season, five wickets from William Helliwell helping to bowl out Pinchbeck for 134 - of which Danny Jackson hit 93.

Nick Crook then took five for Pinchbeck but steady batting from Belton saw them to a three wicket win.

In the other match in Division Two, Matthew Revill also took five as Claypole beat Long Sutton 2nd by seven wickets.

Sleaford 2nd were involved in the highest scoring game in the Premier Division as Billingborough finished their overs on 166 for nine.

Luke Hollingworth hit 66 for Sleaford and despite Paul Goodwin’s five wicket haul, the visitors reached their target in the 42nd over.

Just nine points separate Sleaford in second from fifth placed Market Deeping 2nd, who scored a six wicket win over Belton Park.

Bourne 2nd stay third after Tom Bentley’s six for 20 saw them to victory over Long Sutton but fourth placed Boston suffered a 30 run defeat at the hands of Grantham 2nd.

On a damp afternoon, Spalding 2nd were the only club to top the 200 mark after Tim Norris made 107 in their win over Baston, consolidating top position in Division One.

Spalding made 230 for six before restricting Baston to 173 for eight, Liam Davies hitting 55.

Skegness 2nd picked up valuable points with a win over Heckington, who were bowled out for 102, chasing their opponents’ 128.
