Fit again Wilson keen to be back in action

FOLLOWING the accident at Croft which prematurely ended his 2009 racing season, Bruce Wilson from Scopwick is planning a return to action in 2010.

Wilson had to endure a skin graft and plastic surgery to patch up the gaping hole in his arm caused when he was thrown from his machine at Croft but this has all now been completed and the Lincolnshire rider is fully fit and raring to go.

Wilson will once again contest the National Superstock championship but is to go out on track with the sole intention of enjoying his riding.

He explained: "Having spent the last few months recovering from the injury I realise I need to accept where I am in my racing career. Perhaps this year is a time to just go out there, enjoy my racing with no pressure to bring home a top result and move forward from there.

"I have worked really hard over the winter in the gym and now realise how much I have gained with my fitness. I am running in a half marathon shortly and then set off to Cartegena in Spain for a week testing.

"I haven't ridden the bike since my accident at Croft so I need to do some winter testing ahead of the start of the racing season.

"I have a year's experience on the big bike so it won't all be new to me this time. Also I am relishing the change in the race calendar, as they are taking in two rounds at Cadwell, one in May and the other in its usual slot of August Bank Holiday weekend. I always go well at Cadwell and picked up one of my best results of last season there back in August."

Bruce will be riding the SMT spec Honda Fireblade for team Sorrymate.com and will begin his challenge at Brands Hatch over the Easter weekend.
