Another five goals for Pointon

Pointon U13 5 Lowlands U13 2

IT’S three wins out of three now for Pointon who have scored five goals in each game in the process.

Lincoln side Lowlands were no pushovers though, and Pointon had to wait 10 minutes for their first attempt on goal which came courtesy of Connor Lindley. The visitors struck first with a tap in from a looping cross.

From then on Jed Humphries in the home goal was kept busy, and Pointon’s occasional forays forward were repeatedly frustrated by the linesman’s flag.

Dean Jackman levelled things with a long range effort just before the break.

After half-time Pointon came out with renewed vigour and George Beech had two efforts saved in the first five minutes. The first goal came five minutes later when Max Graham put a great ball through to Jackman who scored a quality second goal.

Lowlands managed another equaliser with a speculative shot from the edge of the box slipped through the keeper’s legs, before Ed Brady’s neat ball through the middle found Connor Nelms who fired Pointon ahead again, before beating a couple of defenders and slotting home Pointon’s fourth.

Jackman had another good chance to make it five as did Alex Nelms whose shot flew over the bar before Beech got his name on the scoresheet making it five again for Pointon.
