Results went badly for Sleaford area teams in the Grantham Sunday League.

In the Premier Division, FC Osbournby Rangers lost at home to bottom club Nobody Inn Athletic 2-0, while Helpringham Rovers went down 4-2 at league leaders Long Bennington.

In was a similar situation in Division One, where Ruskington were beaten 1-0 at Nobody Inn Athletic Reserves, who top the table, and second-placed Caythorpe Sports and Social lost ground on the leaders when losing 4-2 at Colsterworth United.

Charity Shield semi-final - Helpringham Rovers v Witham Wanderers

○ In the Boston Saturday League, Pointon thrashed Mareham United 6-0 away from home in a Premier Division fixture, with Luke Thomas claiming a hat-trick. Pointon’s other goals came from Ian Jacquest, Russ Houlden and James Dores.

Also in the Premier Division, Ruskington were hit for six, going down 6-0 on their visit to Benington.

There was another a six-goal haul in Division One when Rippingale & Folkingham won at Sutterton 6-1.

Three of their goals came from the penalty spot, with Tom Edwards netting a hat-trick of spot-kicks, while James Ferrow hit a treble in open play.
