The long journey back from London was an enjoyable one for Sleaford following their extra time success in the FA Vase competition on Saturday afternoon.

Ryan Oliver gave the Greens the lead after seven minutes, converting a George Asplin cross from close range at The Bengal Tigers’ Mile End Stadium.

The Greens held on to their lead until half time, but Tunde Adewunya hauled Sporting level from a right wing corner 10 minutes into the second half.

The two sides were still all square after 90 minutes until Brad Hockin put Sleaford ahead again with a scrambled effort four minutes into extra time.

And it was that man again, Oliver, who sealed the Greens’ last 64 place with three minutes remaining in extra time, with Asplin again the provider.
