‘Let’s keep pushing on’ says manager Maddison

Sleaford Town are looking to continue their run of good form after picking up three victories in a row – lifting them up the league.

The latest win came against Shepshed Dynamo, with the team running out 2-1 victors last Tuesday, courtesy of goals from

Liam Tunstall and Joe Braithwate.

Manager Glen Maddison said he thought his players had done well but described the win as something of a ‘smash and grab’.

And despite pressure from the visitors managed to keep them at bay.

“Andrew [Hewitt] had to save us once or twice, but overall we kept holding our own,” added Maddison.

Next up, the team were set for a Boxing Day showdown with local rivals Boston Town at Eslaforde Park.

The game has been given a little extra spice following
the Poacher’s unsuccessful pursuit of Town hotshot Liam Tunstall.

Prior to the game, Maddison said he was looking forward to the match.

He added: “Hopefully we’ll get something against them and can keep pushing on.

“Our main concern is that we want to keep the run going.”

The team then host Yaxley for the first time this season on Saturday, kick-off at 3pm.

Maddison believes this is another winnable game for Town.

He said: “They have had some good results and some silly results.

“Both Boston and Yaxley are on and around us and if we can better them that’ll bring everybody together again.

“I think they (Yaxley) are one or two places above us, so hopefully if we can get something against them we can gain a place.”
