Sills and Betteridge Lincolnshire League

Skegness Town 5 Sleaford Town Reserves 1

Skegness Town made it four wins from the last five league games with their best result of the season so far against Sleaford Town Reserves.

But Skegness had to come back from behind to earn the three points.

Just as in the corresponding fixture at Sleaford, Andy Harris gave the league’s basement club a first half lead, swivelling inside the box to smash the ball past Ricky Lovelace.

But this time Michael Gardner’s goal cancelled out the advantage before the break.

Liam Papworth gave the seasiders the lead early in the second half and then two penalties, both converted by Mark Thompson, sealed the result for the home side.

Lee Orrey wrapped up the scoring with his 14th of the season in injury time.

Heckington United 0 Boston United Reserves 3

Liam Ogden’s first goal of the season for reigning champions Boston was all that separated these two sides at the interval.

But the Pilgrims sealed the three points with two second half penalties, both converted by top scorer Tom Sergeant.

Elsewhere in the Lincolnshire League, Nettleham won the game of the day with a five-star performance at high-flying Grimsby Borough Reserves.

Two goals from Josh Bowden put the Nettles well on their way to a 5-2 win at the Bradley Community Stadium.

Luke Mascall scored five of his own as leaders Cleethorpes Town extended the gap at the top to 19 points with a 6-0 win over Ruston Sports.

Fixtures, Saturday, January 14:

CGB Humbertherm v Hykeham Town; Louth Town Reserves v Swineshead Institute; Ruston Sports v Market Rasen Town; Skegness United v Nettleham; Sleaford Town Reserves v Lincoln Moorlands Railway Reserves
