Fishtoft were struggling to raise a side for their home game against Pointon and their depleted ranks failed to salvage any reward as they fell to a 4-1 defeat.
Pointon took the three points and were worthy winners on the day and they started well by taking a first-half lead. Two further second-half goals put the result beyond doubt although Neil Allen did pull a goal back for Fishtoft.
Pointon added goal number four before the end to make the final score 4-1. Their goals came from striker Ian Jacquest, who bagged a brace, with further strikes from Nathan Wilson and new signing Mitchell Griffiths.
Billinghay Athletic and Ruskington Rovers produced an eight-goal thriller but it was two goals from Jasper Caudwell which helped Billinghay to victory following a 5-3 home win. Jac Wright, Harry Wright and Kris Coussens also got on the scoresheet for the home side.
The big local derby match at Sleaford Colts saw Heckington Millers rescue a valuable point following a second-half fightback. Sleaford Colts found themselves 2-0 ahead at the break following goals from recent transfer from Billinghay, Danny Long and another by Chris Bradford from a first half penalty. Heckington’s Richard Meldrum, with a long-range strike, and Seb Kew, whose shot hit the bar and bounced over the line, helped salvage a point for The Millers. Final score 2-2.
Two goals from Kai Willerton helped Rippingale & Folkingham to a 5-3 home win against Sutterton. The home side’s other match-winners were Tom Edwards, Gary Sleight and To Vorley.
The game at Old Doningtonians where Pointon Reserves were due to visit failed to go ahead after the home side’s pitch was declared unfit.
Mark Smith hit a hat-trick for Pointon A in their 5-1 home win against Boston Athletic. Jason Gough grabbed the other two goals for Pointon.
