Long Bennington Under 13s 0 Sleaford Town Boys Under 13s 6

From the off, Sleaford began to tear Long Benningtons’ defence apart, leading to a number of early chances.

It wasn’t long before Ethan Wright’s run and pass was diverted by Harry Dean into the path of Roland Nye, who neatly tucked the ball away for Sleaford’s first.

A few minutes later, Zac Willmont ran onto another good ball from Wright to score Sleaford’s second.

Long Bennington fought hard to get back into the game but found their attacks repeatedly repelled by Sleaford’s back line of Daniel Gee, Jack Broughton, Danny Monteiro and James Hebden.

Nye slammed in the third goal after great link play with Dean, then Nye returned the favour, setting up Dean for Sleaford’s fourth moments before half time.

Excellent open play and quick ‘one twos’ led to further chances by David Walkington and Kieran McGuire in the second half.

Sleaford keeper Lewis Brockington, making his 100th consecutive appearance for Sleaford Town Boys, pulled off a number of key saves to ensure another clean sheet. He has not missed a game since joining the club in October 2008.

Following neat interplay between James Whitaker and Dean, Willmont cut inside from the right and scored Sleaford’s fifth.

In the dying minutes, Wright was again the provider, this time setting up Owen Park, who coolly chipped over the keeper.

Man of the Match: James Hebden, who made a number of timely tackles and clearances.
