Sleaford Town secured an important win at Holbeach on Wednesday evening, earning three valuable points in their battle for survival in the United Counties Premier League.

With club chairman Brian Rowland in charge for the second game following the departure of interim manager Terry Fleming, Town travelled to fifth placed Holbeach with their place in the top flight looking precarious as they lay fourth from bottom, just four points above the relegation zone having played more games than the other teams in the drop zone.

But a gutsy performance from Sleaford saw them hold their hosts and then, with 15 minutes to go, skipper Scott Coupland scored what was to prove the only goal of the game to clinch a vital win.
