Sleaford Town target four more wins to safety

Four more wins to safety – that’s the message from Sleaford Town boss Glenn Maddison.

“I want us to get to 30 points as soon as possible, I had hoped we might have been there by now,” added Maddison, with Town fifth from bottom of the UCL Premier on 27 points. “I think if we get four more wins then we will be safe. I want to do that as soon as we can so that will take the pressure off for the final games.I am confident we can do that.”

Weather permitting, Maddison will be hoping to start picking up those points at home on Saturday against bottom team Irchester United.

“They are down there and we haven’t played them this season. I would expect us to win it,” he said.

The team will be boosted by the return of left-back Will Rawdon, on work experience from Lincoln City. “He did well for us in December and we are really pleased Lincoln City have allowed him to come back,” added Maddison.

With the bad weather, Town had a weekend away from the pitch as their game at Kempston was called off, but the team still hit the gym.
