James Cooper struck twice for Hykeham as they progressed into the second round of the Supplementary Cup at the expense of Heckington.

Mark Newman and Michael Bland were also on target for Hykeham, while Thomas Robinson scored United’s goal.

In-form Sleaford Town Reserves hadn’t conceded a league goal for three games and travelled to Cleethorpes looking to make it 13 points out of 15, after a good 4-0 mid-week victory over Boston Town Reserves.

But league leaders Cleethorpes put an end to their four-game unbeaten run with strikes from Brody Robertson and Josh Williams.

Sleaford battled well and missed a couple of chances but they couldn’t find a way through the Cleethorpes’ defence.
