Both of Sleaford Town's junior representatives in the Under-18 Lincs Intermediate League locked horns in an eagerly anticipated encounter on Sunday.

Sleaford Town Boys drew first blood 15 minutes in when Lewis Russell’s cross shot crept in at the far post.

The younger Boys then doubled their lead through Oli Sokolovic-Knapper with a deft near post header on the stroke of half time.

Sleaford Town came out from the half time team talk with all guns blazing and Fraser Harding scored the goal their intense pressure deserved.

Both teams made tactical changes as they fought hard to score the all important next goal in the keenly contested second half.

With 25 minutes to play, a swift counter attack along the left saw a wicked cross from Harley Cocks met with a belter of a header from Jordan Berry to secure a 3-1 victory and three points for Sleaford Town Boys.

Sleaford Town U17 host Grimsby Borough U18 in round one of the Lincs FA County Cup on Sunday, kick-off 1.30pm. In the same competition, Pointon Junior U18 are at Bourne Town Youth Blue U18, whilst Caythorpe and Fulbeck U17 visit Fishtoft Youth U17. Metheringham host Nettleham in the LIFL South League.
