THE Rauceby Hospital Cup was won in fine style by the junior pairing of Conor Thompson and Rhys Hodder.

They produced an excellent net 59 to finish two shots clear of Martin Chambers and James Burnett in second place. They were closely followed by Josh Taylor and Ollie Harrod and Steve Rust and Andy Bett, both with net 62s.

* The Sleaford A league team have now finished their fixtures, ending the season with a loss at league winners Belton Park by 4 matches to 2. Winning pairs for Sleaford were Jason Barnett and Martin Chambers and Mark Hipworth and Josh Taylor.

The A team have finished third in the league and will therefore retain their Division One status next year, a good performance as many young players were brought into the team this season.

* Sleaford seniors are nearly at the end of a busy match season and they secured a very good win at home to Greetham Valley by 5.5 matches to 2.5. Winning pairs were Brian Cuthbert and Howard Saunders, Tony Blithe and Tony Gordon, David Swaithe and Hector Cole and Alan Rock and Derrick Dann. Des Heyes and Ralph Mundy, Tony Masters and Fred Bristow, Pat Flemming and Bob Braban halved their matches.

The seniors’ team have been less successful in their away fixtures and lost to Melton Mowbray by 6 matches to 2. The only winning pair was Hugh Court and Hector Cole, with Pat Flemming and David Swaithe and Tony Masters and Les Wilkinson halving their matches.
