Harvey hoping to stretch series lead in Valencia

JACK Harvey will take to the streets of Valencia in Spain this weekend for the third event of the 2010 Formula BMW Europe Championship.

The Racing Steps Foundation-supported driver from Bassingham is hoping for another podium topping weekend around the Mediterranean harbour venue.

Jack currently leads the championship points table after the opening four rounds after claiming two race wins and a third place.

He said: "It's certainly been a pretty good start to the season. I'm feeling confident and the team is feeling confident too.

"We've got a good base set-up on the car now and it means that we shouldn't have to spend too much time hunting for the final setting, especially with the limited track time available to us, which suits me to be able to just get out there and get on with it.

"Prior knowledge of the circuit is going to be valuable too. I quite like street circuits and at Valencia you can really attack some of the corners as there is a little bit more room compared to others.

"A start from the front-row is definitely going to be required though, so qualifying will be more important there than probably anywhere else all season."

In only his second season in car racing, Jack has already shown that he has the potential to go far in the sport.

He will be aiming for two more good races in Valencia to to keep up the pressure on the rest of the Formula BMW field.
