Haul of medals for young Acorns

TWENTY members of the Acorn Judo Club travelled to Ashby de la Zouch to compete in a competition and they returned with a haul of 30 medals.

The Digby-based club, which is coached by Julie Norman, picked up four gold medals, 11 silvers and 15 bronze medals.

Julie said: "Even the youngest member of our team, who is only four, came away with a silver medal. It was a long and eventful day, with some very good judo."

Gold medal winners were: Daniel Coupland, Harry Nicholson, Wayne Powell and Sasha Clare. Harry and Daniel also picked up two of the club's 11 silver medals.
