Joe and Hannah on track for national finals

CARRE'S Grammar School pupil Joe Dunderdale won the under-17 men's javelin at the Northern Athletics Track and Field Championships at Gateshead International Stadium.

His winning throw of 55.47 metres assures his entry into both the English Schools Championships and England AAA Championships in July and August.

Not to be out done, sister Hannah Dunderdale then went on to win the under-15 girls' long jump with a leap of 4.90m. She was also came second in the javelin with 33.35m, third in the 75m hurdles with a time of 12.09 and fifth in the shot with 9.81m.

Hannah too has qualified for the two major championships.
