Lincolnshire County Cricket Club open their 2015 season with a match against Cheshire in the Minor Counties Knockout Trophy at Grantham on Sunday.

The match is 50 overs each side, starting at 11am. Admission is free.

The qualifying group in which Lincolnshire play is a strong one and in addition to Cheshire includes Cumberland, Northumberland and Shropshire. In recent seasons Lincolnshire have failed to proceed past the qualifying stage and will be looking to improve on that with a winning start on Sunday.

Newcomers to the squad are Sam Kelsall, an opening batsman recently released by Nottinghamshire, Martin Weightman, an attacking all rounder previously having played for Bedfordshire, Alex Willerton, a young pace bowler from Cleethorpes Cricket Club and Louis Kimber, a young opening batsman from Sleaford Cricket Club.

The team will be selected from the full Lincolnshire squad of: D Lucas (capt), K Bansal, C Louth, C Wilson, T Brooks, A Patel, M Carter, D Freeman, A Osmond, S Kelsall, M Weightman, L Robinson, A Willerton, S Evison, L Kimber, R Carnelley.
