Round one of the Lincolnshire Runner Cross Country League at London Road, Louth, saw a good turnout from the junior and adult sections of Sleaford Striders.

The weather was good for running and the hilly course was not too soft for the runners taking part.

Team manager Lisa Ashcroft saw Isabel Collier take on the 1,700 metre course for the under 11 girls in a great time of 8min 50sec, with Charlie Denton in the boys’ race completing in 7.55. The under 13 races were over a 3,000 metre course and Jennifer Dean finished in 15.09, with Harry Denton ending with a fabulous time of 13.12.

In the adult races, Maureen Runacres completed the 5,300 metre course in 28.27, closely followed by Julie Green in 28.59.

The men competed over 9,700 metres with Alan Oliver being first Strider in 35.46 with Kevin Garrick in 38.59, Adam Runacres 41.44, Sandy Telfer 42.51, Simon Jackson 44.05, Jordan William 44.51 and Rob Caven 45.14.
