Malcolm Fenton competed at the British Masters Athletics Winter Throws Championships, at Lee Valley in Enfield London, last Sunday.
He contested the M60 age group and won the hammer and the weight throw (a derivitive of the hammer) with performances of 50.77m and 17.57m respectively.
Sixty-year-old Malcolm competes for Grantham AC and lives in Quarrington. His strength and power training is undertaken at The Fitness Zone in Sleaford, which is the most accommodating gym in the area, for his needs.
As well as a competitor, Malcolm is also one of the country’s leading coaches, having coached athletes to both the Summer and Winter Olympic Games. Having moved into the area recently, he works for England Athletics, heading the national mentoring programme for throwing coaches nationwide.
Formerly he lived in Suffolk and has competed for several Premier League athletics clubs over the years.
