Thirteen-year-old Sleaford rider Emily Wilson took part in the Equine Sports UK Championship at Arena UK, near Grantham, at the weekend.
Emily qualified for the event at a competition at Elms Farm Equestrian Centre earlier in the year and was delighted to be crowned champion after she won in the 1m Pony Showjumping category on Lacey (Tyrells Chantilly Lace).
Emily has been riding for six years now and has only had Lacey since last year when it was an inexperienced four-year-old.
Her mother Sarah said Emily had worked tirelessly with Lacey to get them to the level they are at today, and they were thrilled with the result. Sarah said: “The level of competition was extremely high and their fabulous relationship shone through.”
Emily has also qualified Lacey for the Scope Festival and the British National Championships which take place next month.
