Erin steals the show with four gold medals

Gymnasts from Sleaford, pictured, returned from an invitational Level 4 and 5 competition at Spalding with several gold medals.

A contingent from Sleaford Gymnastics Club took part in the event and in the Level 5 competition Erin Harbron picked up gold medals on vault, beam and floor, and a silver on bars, becoming the overall Level 5 champion.

Other Level 5 performances were: Sophie McAndrew - gold on floor and beam, bronze on vault and bars; Rachel Harte - gold on bars, silver on floor, bronze on beam; Emma Randall - gold on vault, silver on bars and floor; Sophie Halsall - 4th on bars, 5th on floor; Ella McCarthy - gold on beam.

In the Level 4 competition, Hannah Rushen of Sleaford Gymnastics Club picked up gold on vault and silver on bars and floor.

The club’s senior coach, Sammi Emsley, said: “All the girls did fantastically well. It was an excellent opportunity to try out many new skills.

“Erin stole the show in the Level 5s, with three golds out of a possible four and taking the overall title ahead of over 55 gymnasts.”
