Thirteen-year-old Sleaford Golf Club member Jake Craddock won the under-14 and under-16 age group categories to claim two county titles at the annual Lincolnshire Boys Championships at Woodhall Spa.

Jake, a pupil at Carres Grammar School, shot rounds of 76 and 75 for a 151 total score during an assortment of weather conditions to win the under-14 title by 11 shots and the under-16 by a much narrower margin of one stroke to claim the Les Pepper Salver.

Trailing by three shots after the morning session, Jake went into the afternoon round knowing that any mistakes needed to be kept to a minimum and returned a score of 75 that proved to be enough.

Playing off a three handicap, Jake now progresses to the Midland Champion of Champions event to be held in September at Leicestershire’s Melton Mowbray Golf Club

Winner of the under-18s and boys’ champion was Woodhall Spa’s Billy Spooner with a score of 141.
