GYMNASTICS: Sleaford compete for county places

Sleaford Gymnastics Club girls competed against children from all over Lincolnshire in the County Floor and Vault Championships in a bid to qualify to represent the county in the Regional finals.

With girls from nine other clubs trying for the placings in the finals, Sleaford managed to have four girls qualify, with a couple of others only just missing places.

In one age group alone, Sleaford took to the podium with placings of first, second and third, so they have Kennedy, Erin and Rachel taking three of the four places available.

Full Sleaford GC results: Niamh Harbron eighth (out of 21), Molli Wilson bronze medal (out of 24), Rebecca Fletcher sixth (out of 24), Sophie McAndrew seventh (out of 24), Kennedy Shelley gold (out of 21) and silver overall out of more than 115, Erin Harbron silver (out of 21), Rachel Harte bronze (out of 21), Lucy Wilkinson silver (out of 20), Emma Randall, Aime Hatton fifth (out of 20), Samantha Bacon bronze (out of 14), Sophie Halsall sixth (out of 14), Yasmin Farrant seventh (out of 20).

Coach Sammi Emsley said: “It was an excellent performance from all of the gymnasts and all of the coaches are extremely proud. Well done girls, keep up the amazing work.”
