Have your say

Sleaford Hockey Club is looking for new members from all local primary and secondary schools.

Anyone who is in school Year 3 and above is more than welcome to pop along to the weekly coaching sessions. The club can provide sticks for those who do not have them and it also has groups allocated to those who have never played before.

The sessions are run by qualified coaches and are aimed at improving skills and having fun in a safe environment.

Alongside those, the club enters teams in the Lincolnshire Mini League at both under-12 and under-14 age categories. Events are held once a month during the season.

Last season, Sleaford HC won the Lincolnshire Mini League’s fair play award at both under-12 and under-14.

That rounded off a great season for the club who gained members and also a new kit. Local companies, QML (UK) Ltd and Foxhall Veterinary Clinic provided sponsorship to the club which was used to purchase new shirts for the teams.

The club is holding an open day on Saturday and anyone who is interested in trying out hockey should pop along at 11am to the astroturf pitch at RAF Cranwell.
