Sleaford Golf Club’s Men’s Championship has created the youngest ever winner in the 110-year history of the club.

Jake Craddock, at 14 years and one month, accepted the trophy from club captain, Karl Kinsella to break the previous record set 35 years ago.

After Saturday’s round, the three leaders were Tadhg O’Conner (67), Jake (70) – and the previous youngest winner Kevin Blow (74). They set off in the final group in unpleasant, rainy conditions.

Tadgh and Jake produced some excellent golf in the unfriendly and wet conditions, both going under par for the opening few holes.

It was Craddock though that was to hold his nerve and play with a remarkable maturity to come in with a 71, one under par, to take the championship by two shots with a joint total of 141, three under par.
