Table tennis ace Olivia Churchill has competed against the best young players in England at the Junior Masters tournament.
Seventeen-year-old Olivia, from Hough-on-the-Hill was up against 11 other top-ranked English girls, with competitors meeting each other once in a round-robin format.
The Kesteven and Sleaford High School pupil was the fifth seed for the event in Harlow and won three of her 11 matches to finish in ninth place.
The event was won by national junior champion Maria Tsaptsinos who won all 11 matches without dropping a set.
Olivia, a member of Cliffedale Chandlers Table Tennis Club, said: “I haven’t done as well as I’d hoped.
“I had quite a few close games but I found it hard to close them down.”
Until this last year Olivia has been one of Lincolnshire Sport partnership’s crop of talented young athletes to benefit from the county’s LEAP funding programme supplying expert support for them to progress in their sport.
She missed out in 2014 having been in the 50 young sports stars to benefit in 2012 and 2013.
