Sleaford Indoor Bowls Club over 60s hosted Lincoln, winning four rinks and comfortably overall to take 16 of the 18 points to retain third spot.

For Sleaford, M Wareham’s set of P Annison, T Curran and D Stobart were easy winners at 33–16.

There was an easy win too for A Bristow’s set of K Dowling, C Grosse and R Pearson, 31–12, while L Davies, R Barnes, D Woods and T Stanley got off to a good start and had a strong finish on their way to a 25–13 victory.

G Pask’s set of N Dallas, C Faria and F Collin came from behind with a six and finished well to win 23–20 but D Chandley, D Hocking, G Chamberlaine and C Rands were out of sorts and lost 16–21.

Sleaford’s friendly team welcomed Humberside Patrons for their only visit this season, but just failed to win, losing by three shots. It was a depleted team as the visitors could only muster five triples.

John Scott, with Mike Goate and Rose Clapton, had a very strong middle game, going on to win 19–10 and taking the best rink prize.

Nigel Moxon, Barbara Polley and George Glover were well beaten by a strong lead and pin to go down a disappointing 8–20, but Bill Ellison, June Tonge and Yvonne Paul put in a strong finish, after falling seven behind, scoring nine without reply to win 16–14.

Lily Searle, Ken Searle and Keith Richards held out to win 15–11, and Colin Underwood, Sylvia Goate and Janet Underwood were disappointed to lose 13–19.
