The Over 60s hosted Skegness and took all 18 points to go top of the table in their division.

D Chandley, with D Hocking, J Thomas and M Wareham led for much of the game and resisted a late effort from the visitors to hold on and win 22-21

F Collin’s set of P Annison, N Dallas and L Davies came from behind – twice – with a strong finish to win 22-19 in their match-up.

A Bristow’s set of C Faria, T Thackray and R Pearson were in great form on the tricky rink 4 to lead all the way to a god win at 35-19.

T Stanley, with R Barnes, T Curran and D Woods were consistently better than the opponents and ran out clear winners at 27-13.

D Stobart, with K Dowling, P Bacon and C Grosse took an early lead of 9 without reply and had the better of the next 10 ends to a satisfying win 24-12.

Meanwhile, the Friendly team visited Lincoln and spectacularly failed (with the exception of Bill Ellison’s rink which won and Nigel Moxon’s which drew) to come to terms with the lightning-fast surface.

A great experience, but also a steep learning curve.
