The events team of North Kesteven’s sports promoters 1Life organised the challenge.

Faye Coulson said: “We had a fantastic day and 378 participants took part in total across all categories with an age range of 16 up to an amazing 84.”

The challenge saw participants run or walk a 26-mile course, starting at The Lawn in Lincoln or a 13-mile course from Metheringham playing field, both ending in Sleaford.

The route follows the Spires and Steeples Arts and Heritage Trail through the villages of North Kesteven in aid of WheelPower, which provides adapted wheelchairs for disabled athletes.

All participants received a medal specially designed for this year’s challenge.

Chris Sutton, of Lincoln, was first to finish the 13-mile challenge, while Sarah High, of Grantham Running Club, was first woman home over 13 miles.

Adam Holland, of Newark, was first to finish the 26-mile challenge.
