Sleaford RFC sunk by second-half Bakewell salvo

The Red and Blacks travelled to Derbyshire hoping to leapfrog Bakewell Mannerians into third place, but came away tryless in a 23-3 defeat and slipped to fifth.

It was still anyone’s game at half-time as Tom Tobin’s try gave the hosts a slender 5-0 lead, but Jack Duncan’s penalty extended the lead and three tries in the final quarter from James O’Neill, Henry Bagshawe and Ben Hopkinson sealed Sleaford’s fate.

On Saturday, Sleaford host runaway leaders Lincoln at Ruskington Road, kick-off 2.15pm
